Approved Cleaners & Helpful Tips

Some helpful tips: You want to care for the new surface as if it was the hood of a brand new car. Please never use abrasive cleaners or abrasive pads to clean it. The refinished surface is non-porous; A mild, non-abrasive soap combined with a soft cloth and water will do just fine. If a bath mat is used, please pull it out after each use. Use a suction-less bath mat if one must be used.

Your bathtub or shower may be used 48 hours after Bathcrest has refinished it, however the surface will not be completely cured for 30 days.

For stubborn soap scum buildup, use a Purex Dobie pad, a plastic brush or nylon net scrubber. Regular bar soap could be causing in excessive amount of build up to occur, consider switching to liquid body soap.

WARNING: Use of any non-approved cleaner will result in decreasing the shine of the finish. Regular use of these unforgivable chemicals will void the warranty. Always read the label or test cleaning agent in a small area before using it on the entire bathtub.

BATHMATS: if you find your new finish slippery, use a non-suction type bathmat. Because the new surface needs to breath, you cannot leave any bathmat on the tub for an extended period of time. If you use a bathmat, please take it out of the tub when finished. Please do not set the bathmat over the side of the bathtub. We have approved bathmats available to order.

Please do not leave any bottles or bars of soap on the ledges. The moisture gets trapped underneath and eats away at the glaze. You can use one of those holders made to hang in your tub or shower.

Please feel free to call us here at Bathcrest before purchasing a product you are questioning and we can go over whether it is safe or unsafe to use. Feel free to call if you have any questions as well.

MORE HELPFUL BATHROOM CLEANING TIPS:

STUBBORN STAINS:
Spread a past mixture of peroxide and cream of tarter over the stain. Scrub vigorously, then rinse thoroughly. If the stain persists, spread the paste over the stain and sprinkle with a few drops of household ammonia. Let sit for two hours before scrubbing, rinse.
Light stains can often be removed by simply rubbing with cut lemon.

DRAIN PAN:
The good old fashioned remedies work! First, clean out the hair and gunk under the strainer. Pour one cup of baking soda down the drain. Follow with one cup of white vinegar and one-half gallon of oiling water. Repeat if necessary. Baking soda is also great for eliminating smelly drain odors.

MINERAL DEPOSITS:
To get rid of unsightly spots on your fixtures, carefully remove the fixtures and soak for 20 minutes in white vinegar. Brush deposits loose with and old toothbrush.
Once a week, a sponge dipped in white vinegar Is the ideal treatment for cleaning glass shower doors. Lemon oil will remove most water spots on the metal frame enclosure.
If there is a yucky build up of scum, try spraying your shower door or ceramic tile with any prewash spray. Wait a few minutes, then rub with a damp sponge. Do not use pre-wash spray on fiberglass!

LEAKING FAUCETS:
Dripping water will wear through the hardest of surfaces. Make sure that your plumbing problems are fixed immediately. Constant dripping can wear down the surface and leave mineral deposits that cause damage to the surface.
